London-listed liftboat operator Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has been awarded extensions for two mid-size vessels operating in the GCC region.
The first one was announced on Monday, January 5, and is for one firm year, with the client having one more year to extend the charter. No financial details have been disclosed for this extension.
“It follows several new contracts and extensions announced in the last two weeks, reflecting the ongoing strong demand across our markets. As we enter 2026, we do so with positive momentum in our core regions,” said Mansour Al Alami, GMS executive chairman.
The second was announced on December 30, with an identical length of one-year firm plus one-year extension option. This particular extension increased the company’s backlog to $607m.
The vessels were also left unnamed. However, the company only has three mid-sized or S-class vessels, as they are otherwise called, and they are the Shamal, Scirocco, and Sharqi.
In the final week of 2025, GMS won several big deals for large-class vessels. The company won contracts for three such vessels in Europe and the Middle East. In total, the three charters added up to 2,354 days.
